We’re in Hot Pursuit of a New Crew Member
Position: Account Associate
Full-time, Non-Exempt
Laura Bishop Communications (LBC), a full-service communications firm, seeks an account associate to support client account teams. The account associate writes and edits copy for defined audiences and across platforms, monitors traditional and social media for client mentions and trending topics and collaborates with LBC Crew members to develop and execute tactics and full strategic plans to meet a client’s communications goals.
The account associate works from a home office and will visit clients throughout New Jersey and the Philadelphia suburbs and attend staff meetings and events.
Role Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:

Team player – willingness to pitch in to help fulfill all clients’ marketing communications/public relations missions, plans and timelines; open to feedback and useful criticism from colleagues as well as guidance from account managers.

Advanced writing skills – with a pesky eye for grammar – and the willingness to learn and grow.

Basic skills in video production, digital media and graphic design; an understanding of the Canva design platform is a plus.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, pivoting as necessary to meet deadlines.

Self-motivated – able to work independently; proactive and driven to bring original ideas to the table and think “big picture.”

Detail-oriented – can retain and maintain accurate documents and files for clients and Laura Bishop Communications; can and must maintain detailed, daily record of time.

Innovative – curious and has an eye on trends in the communications field and is willing to offer out-of-the-box approaches to meet clients’ communications goals.

Visually inclined – can visualize and identify opportunities for improved graphics across various mediums.

Bilingual skills are a plus.

Education and Experience:
-
- College degree, ideally enhanced by completed internships in communications, public relations, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
- One year minimum experience in public relations, communications, or a related field.
Additional Requirements:
-
- Basic computer skills, including an understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, and willingness to learn additional applications as necessary.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Travel by personal vehicle is required to attend client meetings and events (including some evenings and weekends), as well as monthly/bimonthly staff events.
Salary and Benefits

- The salary range for this role is $45,000 – $60,000; starting salary is commensurate with experience.
- In addition to PTO and sick leave, LBC has a generous paid holiday calendar, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
