Launching Social Media for Ewing Athletics
THE SITUATION
The Ewing Township Public Schools sought to build on the district’s positive reputation through a comprehensive communications initiative reinforcing the qualities that make its students, families, educators and alumni exceptional. This included a new approach to Ewing Athletics’ social media presence to bridge the connection between sports and academic achievement.
THE STRATEGY
LBC worked with the Ewing Athletic Director on launching an Instagram account to reflect the district’s full breadth of strengths and pledge of “Providing a Foundation for Life.” including a balance between academics and athletics. LBC helped to design a brand template and highlight a diverse mix of visual-rich material – professional photography, images, videos – to introduce the student-athletes and their work in and outside of the classroom.
THE WIN
After launching in December 2024, the page content connected with existing high school club accounts and statewide athletic associations, such as the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. Selected students are spotlighted every month, with each post receiving more than a hundred shares. A “Signing Day” image carousel celebrated seniors as they announced their college commitments, advancing their athletic and academic endeavors. The post topped 34,000 total views and received more than 175 shares. A video reel spotlighted the high school’s track and field team, showcasing how they have stepped up mentally and physically while taking on new challenges.
The Instagram page earned a 2025 Award of Merit from the New Jersey School Public Relations Association in the Social Media category.
